Test by mobile phone

Unfortunately it seems it doesn’t work really good to create an article by an mobile phone. With the iOS app it isn’t really possible. But it seems on mobile browser it works…. at least the basics.

Will test it further…

—————

Trying now to find out if it is worth to invest time and energy in creating blog articles by my mobile phone.

So stay tuned…. to be continued

————-

Well, nevertheless a short personal recommendation even if the test by mobile phone doesn’t work proper 😀

Arrived in San Francisco, I visited some places and surfed the Cable Car 😀

If you also wanna do it, you shouldn’t start at the first or last station. This mistake I unfortunately did….but for sure never again 😀

You have to wait veeeery long. I recommend you to follow the line you want to go for at least 2-3 stations and hop on. It is much more comfortable in comparison with the waiting hoards

My Road Trip

Tomorrow… Finally…

Yehaaaa….finally my road trip (USA & CANADA) begins tomorrow.
Starting and ending is in Los Angeles.
My task: to have a f…ing great trip for a few weeks 😀
That´s the good message…for me 😀 The not so good one is, that I will not carry my notebook with me as I first thought. It is a big gaming notebook and needs too much space. I have to carry other more important stuff with me like my action cam, my drone and so on.
So the full story of my trip I can only show later…unfortunately.

Nevertheless, you can follow my Instagram where I will update regularly at least a few pics/videos that will make you a little bit envious 😀

Maybe I can (and then I will) write at least a very few posts for this blog on my smartphone, because I will test the WordPress app. But don´t expect too much. I don´t know if it will work.

The only thing I can now say is, that for this trip I made a few fantastic savings with LockTrip on hotels, especially in Las Vegas. I will show this later, for sure. And I will also show what I will do or what I did with that savings 😀

So follow me on IG a few thousand miles in the west of the North American continent for a few weeks. I´ll show you my world and for sure some awesome footage.

Less then 10 days to go for my next #ROADTRIP

6 WEEKS USA & CANADA

Excitement is rising, and I should begin to prepare my packing list.
Will try to carry not too much stuff with me, but 6 weeks could be a
long time when you miss even a little item. And I have a lot of “little items”
I wouldn’t miss 🙂

After landing in Los Angeles on 20th June, I will try to post a few times per week, at least if I have some interesting information, pics or other things to share and that you shouldn’t miss.

So follow me on this more then 12000 km roundtrip and I show you my world.

Berjaya Langkawi Resort @ Burau Bay

Berjaya Langkawi Resort

@ Burau Bay / Langkawi / Malaysia

During my trips to Langkawi Island, this was my favorite beach to stay.

Nestled in Burau Bay, between the fine sandy Pantai Kok beach and a tropical rainforest with mountains in the background, the Berjaya Langkawi Resort offers you a serene retreat, yet you are close to the action, such as the beach and within walking distance to the Langkawi Cable Car with the Skybridge. Enjoy your magical stay with all the beauties of nature, between azure waters and deep green rainforest.

Location and surroundings:
Located at the northern end of the hotel’s sandy beach of Burau Bay, surrounded by the tropical rainforest. In the vicinity there is the spectacular “Seven Wells Waterfall” and the “Oriental Village” with numerous shops, restaurants and the cable car, which goes up high to the Mat Cinchang. The shopping and entertainment possibilities at Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah are about 30 minutes, to the island’s capital Kuah about 45 minutes. Transfer to the airport: approx. 13 km. Transfer time: approx. 20 minutes

Only for you:

Price comparison

Normally it is no more necessary to compare prices, because here on this website you get the cheapest ones for your accommodations and flights! But for this resort, I did it for you that you can find out what you could save when you book here.

So even to the Booking.basic price – their cheapest nothing inclusive price – you could save about 300 US$ for staying 2 weeks in this resort. And this money you could spend for yourself during this time for food, for fun and for activities.

Give it a try and check this stuff out by yourself or search directly for your favorite accommodation. It is only a few easy steps away for big savings.

Langkawi Cable Car and Skybridge

SkyCab‌ & SkyBridge

If you are also visiting Langkawi Island, do yourself a favor an take a trip to this place… you will not regret it. I did it twice, and will do it for sure a third time. The view and the experience is absolutely amazing and worth it.

This cable car ride takes you from the Base Station via the Middle Station to the Top Station up 708m above sea level to Langkawi’s second highest peak of Mt. Machinchang‌ and the longest free span and curved bridge in the world. The view of the surrounding islands is simply breathtaking. Enjoy great views of the hillside flora, waterfalls and occasional glimpses of the wildlife and birds, while hovering over jungle and climbing over 550 million years old rock.

The Base Station is conveniently located in the Oriental Village at the foothill of the Machincang mountain.
It is easy accessible from the whole island by bus, car, taxi and motorbike and even in walking distance to the
Berjaya Langkawi Resort, where you can have a fantastic stay and can even save a bunch of money if you book your accommodation here .
Give it a try and check it out, now or later. You will be very surprised about the savings you can have 😉 At least, you can for sure pay the cable car ride with the savings or have even more fun with more on-site activities and trips on Langkawi Island.

The Oriental Village itself is nearby Pantai Kok and Burau Bay, about a 20 minutes ride from the airport to the west of the island.

From here, visitors will be taken up to the cool Machincang mountain via the cable car system. The ride will be an exhilarating experience for everyone to enjoy.

An intermediate cable car station on the eastern ridges provides the much desired access to the eastern cliffs with its 3 vertical chimneys and the beautiful 360-degree views. The journey from the Base Station to Middle Station will cover 1,700 meters in distance and upon reaching the Middle Station at an elevation of 650m above sea level, visitors will be able to alight and walk up to the viewing platforms. Visitors will enjoy panoramic view of the main island as well as the many surrounding islands. Visitors also be able to observe at a close range the unique flora on the ridges and the forested valley between the Middle Station and the Top Station.

@ Langkawi Island / Malaysia

You can continue the ride with the SkyCab to the Top Station, or if you want you can use a trek between the Middle Station and the Top Station. This allows visitors to explore the valley between the two stations. Visitors will experience first hand the unique change in the flora of lowland to the top as well as many species of flora endemic only to the Mt. Machinchang forest reserves.

When you reach the Top Station, a short walk up the stairs at an elevation of 708m above sea level will take you to the two viewing platforms at the top of Machincang mountain. You will be amazed at the unfolding dramatic views from the platforms, the most unique and exciting features of Machincang, are dominating rock tower peaks providing spectacular 360 degrees panoramic views of the Langkawi islands and Southern Thailand as well as dramatic views of the deep chasms, overhangs cliff walls and isolated pinnacles. Such nature monuments are seldom seen anywhere else in this combination except in Langkawi.

Enjoy this trip and let me know how it was 😉

Manatees in Florida

Sweeties under water…

If you like to be in water, if you like animals and if you like to have a once in a lifetime experience, then you should swim with Manatees.

In Florida, it is possible to do this trips around Crystal River, where this sweeties have their “home base”, escpecially when the water of the ocean becomes colder. The rivers and warm water springs around Crystal River and Homosassa are still warm and provide the Manatees a habitation for relaxing. In this warm shallow waters of estuaries, rivers, coastal areas and bays, you will find for sure your personal experience with Manatees.

While Crystal River has about 40-50 resident manatees throughout the year, the numbers vary significantly in different months. There are fewer manatees in the summer than other months. The best months to swim with manatees in that area are between November and April when a large number of manatees (400-500) are crowded around the mentioned warm water springs and migrate to Crystal River. There are more manatees there in December, January and February than in any other time, but you will still have a top notch experience in the months of March and April. Water is also very clear during these months, making it much easier to locate and swim with the manatees. For the best experiences, midweek trips (Tuesday through Thursday) and early in the morning tours (6:30 to 8:30 a.m.) are ideal as the springs are less crowded. Manatees are also very active and playful in the morning.

Make sure to take all this informations into account when planning your trip to swim with Manatees.

It is only a short ride from the Tampa Bay Area with a lot of affordable accomodiations. Even from Orlando it is worth for a trip to Crystal River.

More Manatee fun and facts…

Do Manatees fart?

Of course they do 😀

They even use their farts to swim. If you get a chance to watch manatees for a few minutes, you’ll notice how effortlessly they rise and sink in water. You’ll also notice an incessant bubbling up on their hindquarters as they sink into the water. So why are they doing this?
Here is the explanation: “Manatees do not have swim bladders to help regulate their buoyancy and stay horizontal in the water column. Several things help, including the dense ribs located towards the front of the body and no hind limbs. Another method used with great results is actually flatulence. Manatees release or store gasses in their system to drop or rise at will.”

So… yep. Manatees really use their farts to swim. An adult manatee will eat between 100 and 150 pounds of vegetation each day which means a lot of methane builds up inside. If they want to float to the top they hold it in and if they want to sink they let it rip.

I don’t suggest you try this method of swimming at home and for sure not in public swimming pools. But if you like to do some hidden experiments, then do it on your own risk 😉

Here is an inspiration for you of an epic Manatee fart 😀
